Starling removal the quick, safe and effective way. Remove starlings from bathroom and dryer vents quickly.

After years of research and field testing we have developed the STARLING STOPPER tm bird trap. The Starling Stopper tm bird trap is designed  to capture baby starlings from age 1 1/2 weeks to fledgling that have hatched in bathroom vent pipes, dryer vents or other similar cavities. Starling nests almost always lead to bird mite infestation and the presence of histoplasmosis spores which can be hazardous to humans.

To Use the Starling Stopper tm:

Remove the exterior vent cover from the vent pipe in which the starlings have nested. The mother bird will usually fly out within 5 minutes of the vent cover removal. If not, she is most likely out gathering food for her young and will return shortly. Insert the Starling Stopper tm into the vent pipe with the one-way door facing in and the hinge at the top. Rotate the removable nose cone so that the bottom edge sticks out farther than the top thus providing a perch for the mother bird. She will stand on the perch or on the top of the trap and call to her babies. They will enter the trap. The mother bird will then be able to feed the babies through the screen. After 12-24  hours, check the trap and move the babies to a transfer cage in which they can be taken to a rehabilitator. Repeat the process until all babies are removed from vent pipe and there are no longer any noises coming from the vent.  At that time remove the nest material from the vent pipe and install a vent cover over the vent pipe opening.

Starlings typically have 2 to 3 broods per year consisting of 4 to 6 babies. The young are born between the months of March and July.
